How GPT-3 revolutionizes focused content generation
What is GPT-3?
Starting with the very basics, GPT-3 stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer 3 – it’s the third version of the tool to be released.
In short, this means that it generates text using algorithms that are pre-trained – they have already been fed all of the data they need to carry out their task. Specifically, they have been fed around 570gb of text information gathered by crawling the internet along with other texts selected by OpenAI, including the text of Wikipedia.
What can it do?
It can do a wide array of tasks, including (but not limited to):
• Text classification (ie. sentiment analysis)
• Question answering.
• Text generation.
• Text summarization.
• Named-entity recognition.
• Language translation.
What does this mean for me?
Imagine inputting a few words describing your next marketing article and it will write it for you. Receiving a large complicated text and you want to just have it summarized, it can do that too. You could even use speech-to-text to have it execute commands.
When you would say „Firewall all incoming connections to port 22 on this machine.“ It would translate it to „iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 22 -j DROP“. Even for the recruiting sector it could help writing the most optimal job adverts. That’s how powerful this AI is.
